Dracula, out of worry for her daughter, and wanting to keep her safe, comes up with a plan to keep her to stay – make a false village, with the zombie staff acting as villagers (pff, zombie staff. *realises the readers are probably scratching their heads at me* Sorry about that.Īnd - and Mavis is wishing to see the world, as she believes she is old enough to see the world safely without being endangered by humans. *slaps myself in the face* GET A GRIP, CALLUM! There's only room in your heart for ONE female vampire, and her name is MARCELINE! In present day, Mavis is nearing her 118 th birthday – *looks at design* WOAH!! And she seems to have upped the HOT factor quite a bit - er, er. After the death of his wife, decided to build a safe haven for their daughter Mavis, and all the monsters of the world, where they would be protected from humans. The story revolves around Count Dracula, who, after the death of his wife - AGAIN with the MOTHER deaths, films?! What do children's films have against mothers anyway?! I don't WHY a lot of films have the mother KILLED OFF, but I – okay, getting sidetracked here. I mean that in the same way as I do for Rio.īut still, I personally don't mind similar plots, as long as the film throws in some new elements, and this film definitely does. people who want really original stories may not want to watch. but still, just a little bit of background there – let's look at the film itself.įrom the same studios that brought us Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and from director Genndy Tartakovsky – who also directed the cartoons Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, The Powerpuff Girls, and the original Star Wars the Clone Wars (not that rubbish CGI one ), this film is probably another film that. Hotel Transylvania came out first, then ParaNorman, then Frankenweenie. But for the record, we had ALL THREE of these films coming out within the same WEEK – yeah, literally, within SIX DAYS, all three of them were released in the UK. Even though they're both not as good as Frankenweenie, in my opinion, I still really like them all. Now, when this film originally came out in cinemas, I was more interested in watching Frankenweenie, so I didn't see this film (or ParaNorman) until this summer when it was shown on Sky Movies. In today's freaky installation – we shall see where monsters go on holiday. And welcome to the next part of Duckyworth's Thoughts – Horrendously Horrific Hallowe'en of Horrendous Horror – The Revenge! ![]() Greetings, my fellow servants of darkness.
